Women Chemists Committee (WCC) Rising Star Award

The WCC Rising Star Award recognizes up to ten outstanding female scientists in chemistry or chemical engineering who have demonstrated outstanding promise for contributions to their respective fields. Recipients are given an opportunity to present their contributions at a WCC-sponsored symposium at the ACS National Meeting. They are also awarded a stipend to cover the travel expenses to the meeting.

Award amount: $1,000

Where: ACS National Meeting

When: Annually 

Eligibility: The award is open to all individual female ACS members in chemistry and chemical engineering working in academic, industrial, government, non-profit or other employment sectors. Appropriate candidates will typically be no more than 15 years from receipt of their terminal scientific degree and have demonstrated outstanding promise for contributions to their respective fields.
