Do you enjoy using hands-on activities to share the excitement of chemistry with children, teens, and, let’s face it, anyone who will listen? Do others ask you for advice about what to say and do when facilitating a hands-on activity? If you answered yes to these questions, the five-part Let’s Do Chemistry Train-the Trainer workshop is for you!
This train-the-trainer–style workshop shares research-based strategies to improve activity content, format, and facilitation of activities. It is for members of the chemistry community who are in a position to train others in techniques for making their chemistry outreach activities better at stimulating interest, a sense of relevance, and feelings of self-efficacy in participants.
Award: Individuals who complete all five parts of the workshop will receive a $1,000 stipend upon completion as compensation for their time and work.
Length: Five-week series, with one 75–90 minute session per week, plus online work. Please choose the workshop schedule that works best for you and indicate your preference.
