ACS and MRS Present Chemistry and Materials Science: Enabling a Sustainable Energy Future

As climate change continues to have a large impact on humans, renewable and sustainable energy sources are becoming even more critical. At this virtual workshop, speakers will address critical issues at the frontiers of green energy with a focus on materials advancements and developments in four major areas: solar energy, light emitting diodes (LEDs), batteries, and hydrogen.

Each workshop will be followed by a networking reception with the speakers, panelists, and organizers Sossina Haile (Northwestern University) and Prashant Kamat (University of Notre Dame). The goal is to generate fruitful discussions and identify critical research needs in the near term to move the fields forward. The workshop will be of great interest to active practitioners in these fields as well as students new to the field to get a broader perspective with a format that allows for extensive discussions.
